Vice Chair
Tammy McDowell is Vice Chair of Connecting Care Niagara and Home Health Care Manager at Boggio Family of Pharmacies. With 15+ years in the industry and as a registered RRTS, she champions accessible healthcare, mobility, and fall prevention for seniors. Tammy also serves on the City of Port Colborne Seniors Advisory Committee and was a 2024 finalist for the Canadian HME Woman of the Year award.

Sally Buxton
Director
Sally Buxton is a Seating and Mobility Specialist at Boggio Family of Pharmacies and a registered RRTS. Known for her ethical, client-centered care, she has earned a strong reputation across Niagara over the past decade. Sally serves on the Board of Connecting Care Niagara, supporting healthcare, accessibility, and mobility in the community. She’s also a dedicated plasma donor with Canadian Blood Services.

Maggie Moir
Director
Maggie Moir is a Registered Practical Nurse and Director of Operations and Clinical Services at Pioneer Elder Care. She holds a BA from Wilfrid Laurier University, a Practical Nursing diploma from Niagara College, and is a Certified Dementia Specialist (CDS).
She began her career in retirement living and expanded into community nursing and work with the Public Health Agency of Canada before moving into senior leadership roles. Born and raised in Niagara, Maggie is also a longtime dance coach for the Niagara River Lions. Her work reflects a strong commitment to healthy aging, active lifestyles, and ensuring seniors have access to quality care and dignity.

April Hillescheim
Director
April Hillesheim is a Registered Practical Nurse with 15+ years of healthcare experience, beginning her career working in a hospital on an inpatient surgical unit and expanding into areas including day surgery, hemodialysis, and the heart investigation unit. In 2018, she began working with Niagara College supporting nursing students through clinical placements, and in 2022 transitioned into a leadership role, progressing into senior management roles in retirement living, including her current position as General Manager at Chapel Heights. Outside of her professional role, April is a proud mother of three daughters who keep her active and grounded.

Sabrina Richardson is the Community Relations Manager at Willoughby Manor in Chippawa, bringing nearly a decade of experience in senior care to support families through life's most meaningful transitions. She holds a Master of Applied Gerontology from Brock University and undergraduate degrees from both Brock and McMaster University. Her career spans therapeutic recreation, senior living, and community relations.

With a focus on the core values of older adults, where residents don't just live, but thrive, with a resident-first approach, Laura is enthusiastic about senior living sales, supporting older adults, and driving revenue growth through collaborative strategic partnerships in the Senior Care sector.
A proud member of our Connecting Care Board, Laura is the Community Relations Manager for Sedona Care Communities, bringing forward extensive governance experience, having served on the Board of Directors for the STEP Empowerment Youth Centre, Tomorrow's Voices, TD Niagara Jazz Festival, Niagara River Lions and Rotary of St. Catharines. Outside of the community Laura enjoys volunteering, pickleball, and spending time with her loved ones.
